6th of 52 weeks of Chemo

4/13/2011

We are having another good day.  Ellie has been in pretty good spirits today.  That’s two days in a row, a new record.   Today the nurse came to our house to administer the Chemo.  She was amazing with Ellie.  Every week it takes three of us to hold Ellie down while accessing her port.  She kicks, punches, and moves her body.  Today the nurse talked to her and told her “It is ok if you cry and if you are mad, but it is not ok to kick me.  Here is what I am going to do I am going to pock you and it will go really quickly if you just sit still like a big girl.”  It actually worked, she sat on my lap and we did not have to hold her down or anything.  I was so proud of her.  She was such a brave little girl.  I am still waiting for the hospital to call me and tell me Ellie’s counts.  Hopefully they have not dropped further.  She has been really tired today and laying around all day.
I am just happy it has been a good day with sweet Ellie.

If you have kids or know someone with kids, this Sunday $10 kids cuts at Jeffrey Lamorte in Lemont with ice cream sundaes, it is a fundraiser for the Ellie Fund.  Appointments are not necessary but are highly recommended.  I wanted to thank Jeffrey LaMorte in Lemont and Jen for putting this together for Ellie. I hope it is a good turnout.

Praying for now peace, love and a cure for my Ellie.
