So although this past weekend was relaxing and not much happening.  Today made up for the calm weekend.  It started off with a dance party in Ellie’s room this morning.  Today was the kids first day off school what a great day.  After our morning dance party, Jake attended swim lessons.  We then had my sister and her kids over to celebrate my brother in laws birthday and swim in the pool.  Getting in was a little bit of a challenge because we didn’t have the deck but my brother in law made a make shift ladder for the time being.  Kids had a great time.

Ellie and I were only able to swim for a half hour because she had speech today.  She didn’t mind though she was so excited to see her speech pathologist Abby.  She just adores her.  It was also a happy time for me to see her progress on her face.  I can even see a dimple now.  I smile every time we are at speech and see the improvement.  She then had an appointment with a reading specialist to get evaluated.  Unfortunately that didn’t go so well.  Ellie has fallen behind; I just hope this summer we can do some catching up.  And now as I write this Ellie and Jake are swimming, laughing, and having fun with their Dad.  Life is good.  Well at least for the moment.

Now on to the exciting news.  On top a busy summer scheduled with lots of fun for the kids. Ellie and our family have been asked to be representatives for two very important events.  One being the Relay for life in Homer-Glen and Lemont on July 8th.  My mom will be speaking about our experience with cancer.  They asked me to speak but I know I would not be able to hold it together so the next best thing is my Mom.

And the other event is  Little Hands Big Hearts Summer Fest, on Aug. 20th.  This is held at Lewis University in Romeoville with a fun filled day for kids and adults.  The event will kick off at 12non with a walk with Ellie.  They will also have kid’s games, skiball, sparkle the clown, Photo booth, Jumpie House, bean bag games, Food, Beer, and a Concert in the Park.  Wow sounds like fun.  I hope everyone can make it out.  Check out the flyer on my home page to get more details.

And finally Ellie is going to be the queen of St. Baldrick’s in Lemont, Sept. 25th.  Good times in summer.

I also am posting more pictures from the past two weeks, I have yet to post pictures so lots to post.  I also have a video of our dance party I am posting (ignore the overflowing hamper ;o), I’m behind on laundry as you can see)  But enjoy the laughs.  Ellie and I laughed out loud.
