Ellie did pretty good..

Sorry for not posting yesterday.  Once again I was worn out and sick. Yesterday Monday was a good day with Ellie.  I had to go to the doctor unexpectedly at last minute and Dave was running late so my mom had to come start tutoring with Ellie.  I heard she did not do so well.  But in the evening my sister took Ellie to swim lessons for the first time since before January.  (I did not take her because we were afraid she would cling on to me and not do anything).  Good news, she did awesome.  My mom pulled her out of the pool about 15 minutes early. She was getting really tired and having a hard time.  But for the most part they said she did awesome.  It makes me so sad that I cannot see how well she does at swimming & therapy that she will not let me see that.  I cannot complain though because at least she is doing it. 

So today was a different story Ellie has been extremely tired and has had a headache today.  She went to school for a few hours and then therapy.  When she got home from therapy she just wasn’t feeling well at all.  She took a nap and has been laying around most of the evening. This conversation happened earlier in our house and it just made me go awww that’s so darn cute.

Ellie said “My heart is broke”

Dave said “Why what happened Ellie”

Ellie said “Jake yelled at me and it just broked my heart.”

No broked is not a grammatical air on my part; it’s exactly how she said it.  She was so sweet when she said it too.  Ellie is very sensitive so even when someone tells her something she thinks they are yelling.  I think Jake just told her something and she took that as yelling.  It did give Dave and me a little giggle.  

Then there is Jake, today he goes “Mom, do not look in my backpack.”  Ok that raised a red flag.  He went to his first school and left his backpack for his second school at home.  Right before his second school I snuck a peak in his back pack.  My suspicion was right he was trying to sneak toys to school again.  But not just any toy his D.S. Normally I would have said there is no way.  But today I made an exception.  He has been begging me since the beginning of the school year to take his D.S. and show his teacher and friends.

I told him “Jake I saw your back pack”

Jake said “How many times do I have to tell you not too look in my backpack”

I then told him “Today only you can bring it with you to show your friends but if it does not come home or gets broken you are never getting another one”

I cannot tell you how happy I made him.  I was extremely nervous but Jake has been through hell this year too and this was something that would make him extremely happy.  Well he did a great job he came home and was so proud. He said “mom, I got to show all my friends” Keep in mind there are only 5 kids in his class total.  He has been none stop hugging me and telling me he loves me all night long.  He is such a loving boy.  It was so worth letting him take the D.S. to school today ONLY.

As for Dave and I, we have had a rough past week with illness.  I got my wisdom teeth removed last Monday and have been in pain since.  Well yesterday my esophagus and stomach were killing me.  I couldn’t eat or drink.  I finally went to the doctor to find out the medications the dentist put me on were eating away at my esophagus and stomach lining.  If I had waited a day or two I would have been in the hospital.  But within two days I should be feeling better, for now I have to eat a bland diet and no pop.  Then today I went to the dentist to find out I have dry sockets.  Once again within two days I should be feeling better.  As far as Dave goes he has been having extremely bad asthma for the past three weeks.  He went today again to meet with the allergist/asthma specialist.  They have him on some of the strongest medications that are out there and he is still not getting better. They are doing a blood test on him and going from there.  He is supposed to have his wisdom teeth removed in a few weeks but he can’t have it done if he doesn’t get his asthma under control.  He is such a wonderful husband and father he has not let this stop him from doing things around the house. 

Lastly tomorrow is Chemo day.  We get a break from going downtown.  A nurse will be sent to our house to administer Chemo.  I hope it goes well.  Today they delivered the supplies.  I was shocked by how much supplies are needed.  There is a picture above of everything they sent for tomorrow.  Wish us luck on our first in home chemo day.  We will have two total and then back to the hospital.
