low counts but all and all a pretty good day..

Yesterday was a great day.  I received word from Make a Wish foundation.  They should be coming to our house within a week or two to have a meeting about Ellie’s wish.  Ellie’s wish changes every day but for the most part she wants to go on a DreamWorks cruise.  Hopefully they can make it happen.  It was a busy but good day yesterday for the most part.  This afternoon we received word that Ellie’s blood counts are still low.  I just hope she can pull them up by next week.  If not they will do a blood transfusion and that will put her behind on her chemo treatment.  Every day I am noticing more and more hair around the house.  The doctors think she won’t lose all of it but it will thin out.  I have been putting hats on Ellie when she goes to school.  The counselor informed me today when I was there that Ellie has been taking them right off as soon as she gets to school.  I don’t think she realizes that she is losing her hair.  We have had several talks with her but it seems to go in one ear and out the other.  I did have another talk with her tonight and she said she’s going to try to wear her hats.  The counselor was also going to talk to the kids in her class today and tell them they can wear hats to school too.  This way all the attention won’t be on Ellie.  We all know how she hates attention.  Unlike Jake which thrives off attention.  All and all I can not complain.  I am noticing a big difference in Ellie's personality already as we are slowly weaning off the medication so hopefully by May 20th mood swings will be a thing of the past.  For now that is all, happy Friday everyone.
