Rough Night, great day at chemo

So yesterday was Ellie’s first back day to  chemotherapy.  I was extremely nervous how it was going to go when the night before she was crying and having anxiety about the shot already.  But it actually did not go as badly as I expected. 
I would say the worst part of the day was battling the traffic to and from the hospital.  Two hours both ways took allot out of my mom and I.  She did fantastic with her port access, a few tears but no screaming.  I was so proud of her.  It was slightly a different case when it came to the flu shot though.  But we made it through. It was so nice seeing all the nurses and doctors.  In the short months we have known them they have become like family to us.  They just adore Ellie.

 I would say one of the highlights of the day was when Dr.  Goldman, with the largest smile I have ever seen him give, said, “I am really happy with the results of the surgery.” This gave me great comfort, sometimes I forget how serious Ellie’s
  condition is.  I think this keeps me sane. I do know that everytime the one song “If I die young lay me on a bed
of roses,”always makes me cry. So Ellie’s first Chemo back went really well.  I figured it out that she has another year and half (at the most) of chemotherapy.  
 
Everything went really well until she started to vomit throughout the night.  Unfortunately the chemo kicked her butt.  She has
been feeling better this evening.
