such a proud day..

We had a great day today.  Ellie was in great spirits all day.  She went to school and then rested for while.  We also met with the Make A Wish volunteers. Hats off to these wonderful people who have full time jobs and just do this as a volunteer thing.  They were wonderful, they brought Jake some Lego’s (which everyone knows you can’t go wrong with Jake and Lego’s), and Ellie some Dora stuff.  She didn’t seem so excited about it right away but she was so excited later tonight while playing with the stuff.  What a great experience they made this first meeting.

Then we rushed over to the Core for Ellie’s bridging up ceremony.  I thought it started at 7pm and we were supposed to be there at 6:30pm.  Well by the time we got there it was 6:40 which I thought we still had time till 7pm. I was very surprised to learn they moved the time up to 6:30pm start.  Luckily we made it just in time for Ellie to cross the bridge and become a brownie.  I was so proud of her.  She has a great troop leader (Vicki), who has worked and been so understanding through everything.  Thank you Vicki for everything.

I have no complaints from today, I feel so blessed to have had so many wonderful people helping our family out in so many different ways.  Those people have really touched me and make me want to do more good in my life.  I hope that in a few years down the road I can also give back to my community, family, friends, and to organizations like Make a Wish, Ronald McDonald House, Bare Necessities, Hope and Friendship, Church, etc.  In such a difficult time everyone has made it a little easier to handle what life has thrown at us.
