What an amazingly good week full of Christmas Cheer

12/18/2011

Although Ellie's counts are dropping and continually dropping we have had a fantastic week. Unfortunately because Ellie's counts are very low she is very susceptible to getting sick and ending up in the hospital. So therefore she has not been able to go to school. We are hoping that her counts will come backup but if not she will get a blood transfusion to help with some of her
counts. But we are not letting this get us down.

We have had an incredible week and weekend that has been keeping our spirits up. We have been blessed by some amazing people (Mrs. Claus and her Elves) for the past 7 days. We first received a letter a couple of weeks from Mrs. Claus with some presents that informed us that we were a special family chosen from Mrs. Claus to receive the 12 days of Xmas. It all began with Day 1 ice cream and all the toppings. My kids were beside themselves, they were so excited, oh yeah and the big kid (Dave) also. Every day since have been filled with presents for our family. It has brought such joy and excitement to our household. I cannot thank Mrs. Claus and her Elves enough for bringing such joy to our family.

Our excitement has not stopped there. We received our Travel plans for Ellie's Make-a-wish this weekend. It is so hard to believe it’s been over 8 months since the wish granters have come to our house. I truly feel this is a great way to start off
our 2012 year. I have this theory that we have a difficult year and then the next year is a good year. Needless to say I think 2012 is going to be a good year. And we are going to start with our Make-A-Wish trip. Ellie has her MRI Scan on the 30th and depending on the results will depend on whether I consider it part of 2011 or part of the New Year 2012. I am determined to make 2012 an amazing year for the Cuiching Family.

This weekend has been filled with fun. Saturday I got a call from my Aunt telling me they had an extra ticket to see "A Christmas Story Musical" with all my Aunts, Dad, and Grandparents. I had a blast; it was a great night out that was well over due. I cannot thank my Aunt Cindy for giving me the ticket. I actually posted a picture below of my Dad and me at the musical.

Today was the Kids Christmas Musical in Ellie's honor. One of Ellie's classmates and mother put it together in Honor of Ellie. It was the most adorable Christmas Musical. The kids did amazing and they had Ellie laughing. Ellie even asked for a copy of the DVD of the musical because she enjoyed it so much. Her classmate wrote a little note about Ellie in the program book that was so sweet and adorable.  Once I find what Ellie did with the program, I will make sure to post it for all to see.

So today we completed our weekend of Joy with a Wunder family Christmas.  My Dads family Christmas is so much fun.  There
are so many kids and Ellie is the oldest of them all.  We were very lucky that no one was sick so we were able to truly enjoy
Christmas without worrying about Ellie and her counts. Ellie and Jake just adore their cousins.

Then we arrived home to Day 8 from Mrs. Claus’s Elves, which included winter gear and two sleds.  Oh boy the kids were so excited.  We just can’t wait till we have a good snow, so we can go sledding.
