When it rains, it pours...

2/17/2011

You know the old phrase “When it rains, it pours”  This should be the catch phrase of the Cuiching household.  Today after the snow has melted we have discovered major roof problems.  About 2 dozen shingles came off our roof.  Dave went to assess the damage and yes we have lots of weak spots in the roof.  He has yet to go in the attic to see if there is damage.  So this weekend Dave and my Dad will be spending the weekend trying to temporarily repair our roof until we are able to afford a new roof.

I really think our family is a prime candidate for Extreme Home Makeover.  Does anyone have connections out there?  So many things have gone wrong with this house.  Back when we bought this house we knew it needed allot of fixing up but it’s something new every week.  Anyhow.

Today I kept thinking of the “what if” when it comes to Ellie.  Needless to say I put on my fake smile and went with my normal day.  But in the back of my head the “what if” was there all day long.

Good think I have Jake for comic relief.  The kid is extremely cute one minute and a monster the next.  He knows how to work it, for sure.  So today he was so proud because he made me something at school.  He says “Mommy I made you something very special, let me get it out of my back pack”.  Then he hands me three pieces of foam he cut up to about quarter size.  He then says “wait there is more”.  He then he continues to hand me a whole hand full of little pieces of foam that he cut up.  I’m going to try to put a picture below so you get the idea.  Not sure what to do with all the little pieces of foam but he wants me to keep them.  And he was so cute about it; I think I might have to keep them. ;o) Well at least for a week.

Ellie’s fundraiser on Friday was a huge success, but we have a long road to go.  There will be a fundraiser at Front Street Cantina in Lemont.  All tips at the Bar will be donated to Ellie on Celebrity Bar Tender night Tuesday 2/22 starting at 6pm.  Another one coming up is a home shopping event with Pampered Chef, Scentsy Candles, & Premier Jewelry that will be on Friday, March 25th.  Keep checking my home page to see the new up to date information.
