Wow, god please give me a break..

What a mentally and physically exhausting day.  I’m so tired and done with this whole chemo and cancer process.  We went downtown today to get Ellie’s blood counts to see if they are coming up at all.  We got not such good news the counts have not come up at all. Her White blood cells are 110 and they need to be at least 750 in order to get her Chemo.  So it’s a matter of monitoring her and making sure she doesn’t get a fever and an infection.  She is already on an antibiotic to help her keep from getting sick but that doesn’t seem to be working very well. She has a cough I just worry about her fever.  If she develops a fever we will have to be admitted into the hospital.  So fingers crossed Ellie stays healthy.

On a more positive note she got fitted for her hearing aid trial and she seems receptive to the idea.  She won’t actually get the trial hearing aid for another three weeks.  They just took the mold shape of the ear. Also on a more positive note, today we brought Jake downtown with us after him asking for months to be able to come to the hospital with us.  Well he has decided it’s not so much fun and doesn’t want to go back again.  Yeah for mommy.  He was all over the place today so that will make my life much easier not having to tell him every week that he can’t go with us.

After such a sad morning I decided to take Ellie & Jake to Ed Debevics for lunch.  I haven’t been there for 12 years.  Last time I went Dave and I went on a date there.  The kids loved it; they especially loved the waiters and waitresses dancing on the tables.

From Ed Debevics we went out to my grandma’s house on the south side of Chicago to visit with her.  We have not seen her since she has been home from the hospital.  I worry about her doing too much.  Just to be able to do a little vacuuming and dishes she was yelling at me.  The woman is a work horse.  She does not stop.  It’s only been two days since she has been out of the hospital and maybe a week since surgery.  I also cleaned her bathroom a little (if anyone truly knows me this is a true sacrifice, I don’t do bathrooms, I will clean anything any were but not bathrooms.)

Anyhow me and the kids then headed over to my aunt which only lives a few miles from my grandma and got some pics for grandpas 90th Birthday party video that I’m trying to put together.

Also I forgot to add that my sister who is pregnant, we got word that on the vacation in Little Rock, AR (that we were supposed to be on).  She is now in the hospital with extreme stomach pain.  So if everyone can please pray for her that would be great.  I just think 2011 just stinks this year for our family; it’s got to get better soon.

We finally arrived home around 9pm.  I must say the best part of my day was opening the cooler on my porch and finding dinner.  That was such a blessing.  I was so exhausted when I got home; Dave is working a double shift today.  So I want to give special thanks to everyone that has signed up to bring us food on Chemo Days.  I cannot tell you how much we appreciate it and how it just brightened my day.  Thank you.  For now I am posting some pictures from Ellie’s Hearing Aid fitting, Jake at the hospital, & the kids working out at my Aunts house.  And then I’m going to bed for the night. Thank you again everyone for your prayers and love you send daily.
